By installing or using Articulate X, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. The service
Articulate X ("we," "us," "the app") is a public-speaking practice tool that runs entirely in your browser or on your device. There is no server-side processing of user data. Transcription is performed by your browser's built-in Web Speech API. All sessions, streaks, and custom prompts are stored in your device's local storage.
We provide the app "as is" with no guarantee of uptime, accuracy, or fitness for any specific purpose.
2. Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use the app only for lawful purposes.
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the app to harm other users or our infrastructure.
- Not use the app to record other people without their consent where local law requires it.
- Keep your device secure — since all your practice data lives on your device, anyone with access to it can read your sessions.
3. Pricing and payments
Articulate X is sold as a one-time $4.99 purchase through the Google Play Store, which grants lifetime access on your Google account. There is no subscription, no recurring billing, and no ads. Future updates are included.
All payments are processed by Google Play. Google's refund policy applies; contact Google Play support for refund requests.
4. Intellectual property
The Articulate X name, logo, copy, design, and code are owned by us. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app. Practice transcripts you create remain yours — we never see them, so we couldn't claim them if we wanted to.
5. Microphone use
Articulate X requests microphone access to enable on-device speech recognition. You may revoke this permission at any time. The app's "type-to-practice" fallback works without microphone access.
6. No warranty
The app is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE." We disclaim all warranties — express, implied, or statutory — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Speech-recognition accuracy depends on your browser, microphone, accent, and ambient noise. Filler-word counts and PREP scores are heuristic estimates intended for self-improvement, not professional speech assessment.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the app. Our total aggregate liability for any claim related to the app will not exceed USD $10 or the amount you actually paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim arising out of your misuse of the app or violation of these Terms.
9. Termination
You can stop using Articulate X at any time by uninstalling it. We can terminate or modify the service at any time with or without notice. Because all your data is local to your device, termination of the service does not delete your data — only your continued ability to receive updates.
10. Changes to these Terms
We will update the "Last updated" date when changes are made. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the operator of eaglebuff.com resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
